On 4 March 1975, an explosive device fixed to the Courtroom Building of the Federal Constitutional Court exploded at 8.07 p.m. Nobody was injured in this attack; only some glass panes broke. A previously unknown group, "Women of the revolutionary cell" (Frauen der revolutionären Zelle), claimed responsibility for the attack. Their violent protest was directed at the decision on abortion, which the Federal Constitutional Court had delivered only one week earlier.
