On 18 October 2026, the memorial event ...abgeholt! (taken away) was held at the Platform 17 memorial (Mahnmal Gleis 17) at the railway station Berlin-Grunewald. The President of the Federal Constitutional Court, Prof. Dr. Stephan Harbarth, delivered the remembrance speech.
The memorial event was held in remembrance of the deportation of more than 1,000 Jewish children, women and men on 18 October 1941, which marks the beginning of the National Socialist deportations of Jews from Berlin to the Eastern European ghettos, concentration and extermination camps 85 years ago.
